Workshop focusing on the capacity of art to respond to the immediate reality around us. The core of the workshop revolves around questions of cultural activism and the relevance and adequacy of forms of engagement. Through examining the relationship between everyday life and aesthetic structures, participants are offered strategies for artistically apprehending, articulating, and conceptualizing layered, complex realities.
The workshop uses space as a dramaturgical starting point for radical, authorial expression. Its focus lies in cultivating personal courage, working with extreme performative energy, and developing the ability to exist within a hyperbolized form of reality. Under the guidance of the D’epog collective, participants will explore the fundamentals of performer training and practically experience the process of articulating meaning—from the emergence of psycho-physical impulses to the fixation of action.
The workshop draws loosely from traditions of situational art and actionism, offering participants a comprehensive insight into the creative methods and compositional strategies the company employs in their “curated reality” formats, including spatial territorialization, constructing confrontational situational frameworks, and shaping the perception of time.
