When are you finally going to retake your driving test? She never should’ve had those kids! How come you still can’t change a flat tire? Hus didn’t die 1514, it was in 1415! Why didn’t you give way to the car on the right? You seriously don’t know thyme isn’t spelled with an “i”? Didn’t anyone ever teach you to patch up those holes in the wall? You were off-key! Try it higher! If you walked on your toes, your back wouldn’t be wrecked. Why on earth did you not wash the wool on 30°C?

The D’Epog collective’s intervention within the exhibition The Error Is Not a Mistake approaches failure as a creative point of departure. The project seeks to legitimize error and present the mistake as a fundamental sign of humanity. Its aim is to explore our fear of failure and strip away the fatalism that so often surrounds the idea of being wrong. The concept pays tribute to all training simulators while offering a critical response to the cult of efficiency and the unhealthy illusion of perfection. Drawing inspiration from the everyday — fixing broken appliances, helping with homework, tutoring, or mending socks — the project celebrates imperfection as a natural part of being alive.
